What I liked about the set up on Fear the Walking Dead was the ensemble cast featuring a uniquely dysfunctional extended family fighting among themselves as much as they were with the decaying world around them.. Victor Strand was still a mysterious, wily, mischievous son of a gun that was up to no good. She asks them mysteriously and says she stays away from this area but got stuck there recently. Dwight explains his mission and tries apologizing for what happened with the Saviors, but Morgan assures him they can talk later. John hears sloshing in the creek and finds a woman lying unconscious in the water: It's Naomi. John spots a walker walk into the river only to get mauled by the gator. He confesses his love for her and tells her she's his reason to live and he wants her to have a reason to live, too. Alicia reacts angrily towards Naomi being alive and part of the Vultures and attempts to shoot Naomi, but accidentally hits John stepping in the way. The man introduces himself as John Dorie and tells Morgan to come sit with him, offering him some food. John and a group break open the fence and use the horses to lead the massive herd to ambush Virginia and take their supplies while the rest moves into the gulch. She explains that Ginny transferred her to Lawton. While he and the department tracked the murders down to a cult leader living in the middle of a desert, they couldn't arrest him as they didn't have any solid evidence. They work to get the truck started again. June runs outside when she sees John's body wash up on the river shore. She tells them that they owe her for saving their lives. John did the same for Morgan after his arrival in Texas. John and Luciana join him as Alicia, Strand, and June arrive with the inhaler. As John is recovering, he talks to Naomi, who tells John that her real name is June. Morgan ignores a radio call from Virginia but picks up when he hears Grace's voice. She is guarded when she first meets Madison and her family, and, apparently, has good reason to be. The group debates their next move. Morgan finds a rusty truck to replace their damaged vehicle and says he just needs a couple of parts to fix it. John grabs a pencil and traces the paper, revealing a message from Sherry. Virginia allows this, but asks John to keep it quiet, as the people are only as safe as they believe to be.
